My greatest challenge when I applied to business school was: Preparing for GMAT and funding

About me: Raised in one of the world’s most ancient and culturally diverse cities, Varanasi, I got inspired by the beautiful handicrafts of craftsmen and folk artists. My relentless pursuit to explore diverse social expressions motivated me to pursue a career in fashion and I joined NIFT, Bengaluru. Further to explore my understanding of the luxury market, I moved to New York to study abroad at the Fashion Institute of Technology. However, the most rewarding experience, which transformed my personality, was when I worked at Global Brands Group with prominent European designers and compiled designs for celebrities such as Kate Middleton. As a consequence of these career experiences, I realised my calling for fashion and decided to immerse in this domain and therefore joined the luxury goods company, Hidesign. Here, I worked closely with companies such as Amazon, Air India and BMW, and launched numerous hit collections in the market. Having gained significant experience in the fashion industry in New York, Milan and India, I felt that in the long run, I needed to further strengthen my problem-solving abilities and people skills to contribute more effectively to business discussions and decision-making. Also, since I see myself stepping up and venturing further in the retail and luxury sector, and orienting myself in the leadership management role, I joined the MiM programme at LBS to provide the right foundation to broaden my knowledge of core management principles and further develop my social skills.

Three topics I can be approached about: How to prepare for GMAT, LBS application strategy; Art in Business Club; moving to London, LBS life
