Diego holds a Bachelor of Economics degree with a concentration in financial economics from ITAM in Mexico City. Prior to the Masters in Finance programme at LBS, Diego worked for seven years in the project and structured finance division of Grupo Financiero Banorte, Mexico’s second largest bank by assets, where he was promoted to deputy director during his tenure. During his time at Banorte, Diego had the opportunity to structure and finance several key infrastructure projects in Mexico, generating value for all stakeholders while also experiencing first-hand the positive impact that project finance has on the economy.
The key reasons why Diego chose the Masters in Finance programme at LBS were his desire to learn from a world-class faculty in a financial hub like London, and the opportunity to build a highly diverse network comprising the most talented individuals across the industry, while strengthening his technical and soft skills to accelerate his career. In addition to being a student ambassador, Diego is an active member of the Finance Club, Infrastructure and Construction Club, Latin America Club and Football Club. In his spare time, Diego enjoys playing and watching football, exercising, spending time with friends and reading finance-related books.
