My greatest challenge when I applied to business school was: Write a compelling application essay to present my key strengths and motivation
About me: I was born and raised in Zhejiang, China, and completed my Bachelor’s degree in Economics at the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing. In my sophomore year, I exchanged to the University of California, Berkeley, where I studied Finance and Philosophy. To leverage my diverse learning background, I tried various career possibilities in prominent companies in the financial advisory, auditing, venture capital, private equity, investment banking and technology sectors. I found myself enjoying working in teams to analyse different industries and companies to generate investment opinions. Therefore, I decided to pursue a career in the investment banking and private equity sector. As such, when I chose to pursue a Masters, LBS attracted me the most with its strong presence in finance industry and a worldwide alumni network. At LBS, it is a lot of fun to network with both Early Career and MBA students on events. The most amazing part is, I am in a cohort that gives me motivation and inspiration every day. I love engaging in the sports teams such as volleyball. Moreover, I get career and industry-specific guides from the peer leader and small group interview sessions held by the Career Centre. Outside of school, I run my podcast channel with high school friends.
