About me: Barry completed his Financial Mathematics & Economics undergraduate degree at the University of Galway, Ireland. He was employed by AIB as an interest rate trader in their treasury division in Dublin, before commencing on the Masters in Finance at LBS. His ambition is to obtain a sales and trading role in a prestigious investment bank in the City of London.From an academic perspective, through extensive research of the market, Barry came to the conclusion that the Masters in Finance at LBS was the best route to this goal. LBS, with its world-class faculty, will equip him with the state-of-the-art financial modelling and communication skills to facilitate his entry into the highly-competitive London trading environment.

He is extremely passionate about financial markets, which stems from owning his first shares in Ryanair at the tender age of one. (They were a christening present and a very profitable one as you may have guessed!) Outside of the classroom and work, Barry has a keen interest in sports, in particular the native ancient Irish sport of hurling. Give hurling a quick search on YouTube – it certainly isn’t for the faint-hearted and may explain Barry’s very high risk tolerance in his personal investments. He is still searching for a drinkable London pint of Guinness as it just isn’t the same as at home.
