My greatest challenge when I applied to business school was: Deciding which school was the right fit for me
About me: I was born in France to a Senegalese and Cape-Verdean mum and a Beninese dad. I then had the chance to live in various countries including India, Norway and South Africa. Having been immersed in such a variety of cultures and environments truly made me appreciate the meaning and the value of diversity. This in part motivated my decision to move to the UK for my undergraduate studies where I did BSc Statistics, Economics & Finance at University College London. In my first year I interned at Värde Partners, a private equity fund specialised in alternative investments. The following summer I interned in American Express’s finance division, and this summer I interned at Castlelake, a global private investment firm. These internships gave me a holistic view of financial services and prompted me to pursue LBS’s MFA. Beyond my academic and career aspirations, I am passionate about increasing diversity. As a Black in Business scholar and Vice President of Careers of the Black in Business Club, I have the platform to do that and aim to make an impact which will outlast my time at LBS. Finally, I am also a Formula 1 fan and drive go-karts whenever I can!
Three topics I can be approached about: Black in Business Club; careers in finance; scholarships
