Alonso holds a Bachelors in Economics from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México in Mexico City, where he was the recipient of an Excellence Scholarship and graduated with honours. Before joining London Business School, he worked as an investments associate at Metro Buildings, one of the leading firms in the multi-family apartments-for-rent market in LatAm. There, he was part of the development team, where he analysed, structured and executed real estate investments for a private fund valued at US$1bn.

He chose to join LBS because of the unique global network, gathering the brightest minds from all over the world, and the flexibility of the curriculum. He is a recipient of the Vladimir Vendin Scholarship.
Apart from being a student ambassador, Alonso is a member of the Executive Committee of the LBS Real Estate Club and is an active member of the Private Equity and Venture Capital Club and the Emerging Markets Club.
