My greatest challenge when I applied to business school was: Leveraging my non-traditional background
About me: Hi, I'm Adi from the UK. I studied Ancient History at UCL, and then spent a year working with homeless people and ex-offenders with mental illnesses and addictions. While working, I realised how much I enjoyed and valued helping others through my career and figured that a Masters at LBS would be a great way to scale my impact. Post-LBS I want a job in impact consulting, or something related to sustainability and international development. That sounds vague, but LBS is a great place to network and learn more about various sectors. Clubs are a good way to do this. It was awesome to talk to knowledgeable MBAs at an Energy & Environment Club social. Likewise, through an Impact Consulting Club project, I am gaining practical experience with a project on a solar energy plant in a developing region. I am super interested in different cultures so I’m loving the fact that LBS has people from so many different places and backgrounds. One of the reasons I am doing the GMiM is to experience a completely different culture to the one I know. Feel free to reach out to talk about LBS or the application process!
Three topics I can be approached about: Applying with a non-business background; social impact; student clubs
