Raymond Tie

Raymond holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) and a Bachelor of Laws (with Honours) from Monash University, Australia. Before joining London Business School (LBS), he worked in the investment team at Metrics Credit Partners (MCP), one of the largest private debt fund managers in Australia. There, he played an integral role in the end-to-end process of screening, originating and executing new investments. Prior to MCP, he worked in the investment banking teams at Goldman Sachs and Macquarie. During this time, he advised on mergers and acquisitions, and capital raising transactions in the telecommunications, media and technology sector. He also completed a secondment in Macquarie’s balance sheet principal investments team.

Raymond decided to join LBS to enforce and deepen his understanding of global financial markets and investing. He is also particularly attracted to the prospect of being able to learn from, and build a connection with, a truly diverse and global LBS community. Raymond is a recipient of Masters in Finance Merit Scholarship.

In addition to his role as a Student Ambassador, Raymond is an active member of the Private Equity and Venture Capital Club, the Infrastructure and Construction Club and the Turnaround Management and Restructuring Club. He is also a peer mentor. When Raymond is not reading investing or finance books, he enjoys playing all kinds of racquet sports: squash, badminton, tennis and table tennis.
