Mursleen was born in Kashmir and raised in Pakistan. He is an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan and is a certified financial consultant. He started his career at PwC in Pakistan, where he managed all aspects of corporate audit engagements. After four years with the firm, Mursleen then moved to Ericsson to lead strategic finance initiatives across the Middle East and North Africa. At Ericsson, he now consults on multimillion dollar business deals across the GCC and Pakistan.
Mursleen is a budding sustainability and corporate responsibility practitioner. He received the Ericsson President’s Award for leading on an initiative to make Ericsson the ‘best place to work in the UAE’. He also oversaw ‘Technology for good’ initiatives that aim to provide basic IT education to female labourers in the emirates. He volunteers regularly for the Whitaker Peace & Development Initiative to provide education to war-torn children in Sudan.
As an MBA student, Mursleen balances his core learnings in finance with general management and strategy. He is studying and working at the same time, meaning he can immediately apply learnings from the classroom to his role at Ericsson. Other commitments include being a student ambassador and sitting on the board of UAE ventures that aim to tackle social issues.
When time permits, Mursleen enjoys travelling and learning about history and cultures. He travelled across Egypt and Turkey before settling in Dubai. Musleen is also a passionate cricketer, playing for the Ericsson team in the UAE, and horse rider. He loves joining riding expeditions across the Middle East and Europe and is an amateur polo player.
