My greatest challenge when I applied to business school was:: I would say both time management and self-belief. It was tough to find the time and energy at the end of a working day to compile a strong application (GMAT, essays, references etc.). Secondly, with respect to self-belief, whilst I dreamed of studying at LBS it was sometimes difficult to see that dream becoming a reality. My advice is to go for it, put in the hours, it will all be worth it in the end!
About me: I was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa. My father however is from Madrid, Spain, therefore I was brought up with exposure to both countries' cultures. In 2013 I moved to Cape Town to complete my undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering.
After graduating I worked in consulting for a year and a half on projects for both Deloitte and Strategy&. During my time in consulting I was fortunate to be exposed to a variety of industries including banking, mining and manufacturing. I applied at LBS for two key reasons. Firstly, as an engineer, I wanted to improve my business knowledge and hence chose to enroll in the MFA course. Secondly, I was eager to get international exposure, which LBS provides through both a diverse faculty/class as well as a world-renowned education.
In my free time I love playing and watching almost all sports - including football, tennis and cricket. I enjoy getting out and socialising therefore as a city London is ideal! Additionally I am a member of the Energy, Africa and Rugby Clubs. I am truly excited for the upcoming year and look forward to being part of the LBS alumni in the years that follow!
