Half English and half American, Amanda’s education began at Groton School in the US and continued as an undergraduate at Somerville College, studying history at the University of Oxford. She then spent two years on Barclays Wealth and Investment Management’s graduate programme and also holds an MSc from LSE in European Studies.
Amanda worked in Myanmar for three years during the first years of its ongoing transition from a military dictatorship to a more democratic society. After working for the only Myanmar-based company with access to international capital markets, on projects ranging from quick service restaurants to Mandalay International Airport, she spent time consulting on projects for local businesses in the FMCG sector. In 2016, she started building a textile and bespoke furniture exporting venture called Chinthe.
At London Business School, Amanda is on the executive committee of the Entrepreneurship Club, and is also a member of the Impact Consulting Club and MIINT (MBA Impact Investing, Network and Training).
