Alex was born in New Jersey, raised in California, and is a proud New Englander. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in international business and finance from the University of Southern California, Alex joined Bank of America Merrill Lynch where he supported both the wealth management operation and the futures trading desk in Boston and New York. Looking to increase his exposure to corporate strategy, Alex joined Liberty Mutual Insurance back in Boston where he rose to the position of project leader. In this role, he worked closely with senior executives to identify, evaluate, and respond to trends impacting the insurance market, specifically specialising in product innovation related to new technology and organisation transformation. Concurrently, Alex served on the National Council of Pride@Liberty, the company’s LGBT group, successfully leading the company’s effort to get its first perfect Human Rights Campaign rating. In the summer prior to his MBA, he worked as a pro-bono summer consultant with Strategy&, benefiting a New York LGBT charity.
Alex decided to pursue his MBA at London Business School to gain an international perspective on organisational behaviour and the product innovation processes. London offers unparalleled exposure to both the technology and the strategy consulting communities, giving Alex deep insight into both. In the time that he has been on campus, he has already travelled approximately 50,000 km, joined the executive committees of the Out in Business Club and Impact Consulting Club, and contributes his spare time to supporting a local non-profit looking to optimise its resources.
