Joining the PhD program at LBS was definitely one of the best decisions I have ever made. The faculty are extremely friendly and supportive, with a clear intent on developing students into scholars. The school, known globally for the diversity of its students and staff, offers multiple opportunities to interact with people of different cultural and professional backgrounds. Looking back, I feel very grateful for the time I spent at LBS and proud to be part of the LBS community.

MIT Sloan School of Management (2016)
Joining the LBS PhD program ranks as one of my best decisions. The opportunity to work on original research with world-class researchers who also serve as enthusiastic and encouraging mentors has been invaluable, personally as well as professionally. While London is the perfect backdrop for any recreational or cultural interest, LBS provides fantastic support for academic endeavours and excellent access to the worldwide academic community. Moreover, interacting with the set of PhD colleagues from MSO -- as well as the other subject areas at LBS -- has both significantly enhanced the educational experience and made it much more enjoyable.

I spent some of the best years of my life at LBS. The faculty members and the PhD program office are fully committed to training PhD students in the best possible way they can and offer unbeatable support. I met my two advisors who became invaluable mentors for not only my academic career but also my personal life. Moreover, LBS boast diversity that no other school can surpass, and I have made great friends for life from all around the world. You can say that LBS changed my life, definitely for the better.
Iva Rashkova - Assistant Professor, Olin School of Business, Washington University in St Louis
Olin School of Business, Washington University in St Louis (2015)
My time as a PhD student was a mindset-changing journey. The courses provide the tools for rigorous research in the first two years and the rest of the time is spent applying the tools and learning the craft of research from faculty and advisors. Undoubtedly, most valuable aspect of the training is the faculty supervision: combining motivation and critical feedback, and shaping high-quality research output while facilitating intellectual freedom. It is a journey of becoming a true business scholar.

The LBS community is simply wonderful. On campus, you’re surrounded by all sorts of interesting people who are not just highly accomplished but also extraordinarily kind and supportive. Beyond the school, you come to appreciate the MSO faculty’s remarkable links with other leading academics and business, both in London and around the world – and have great opportunities to start building your own.
