Frédéric Malherbe

Assistant Professor of Economics

MA PhD (Université Libre de Bruxelles)

Dr Frédéric Malherbe joined London Business School in 2010. His specialist research fields lie in liquidity dry-ups, market discipline and financial stability. His main research interests are in macroeconomics, financial economics and banking.

In 2013 he was awarded the Baron Lamfalussy Fellowship for his work on macro-prudential regulation. He has studied management at Université Catholique de Louvain (BA and MA) and economics at Université libre de Bruxelles (PhD) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Dr Malherbe founded the London Financial Intermediation Theory Network, a London Business School-based research group (In 2011) with members from all major UK based research institutions.

In 2014, he was awarded an International Network grant by the Leverhulme Trust to set up an international network of researchers on financial crises.
