Dr Simcha Barkai conducts research at the intersection of macroeconomics and finance. His work examines the impact of declining competition on the macroeconomy, firm investment policy and asset prices.
Dr Barkai’s work on the decline in the labour share of income has been covered by The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, The Economist, The Financial Times, Bloomberg, Forbes, Harvard Business Review, The Washington Post, The New Republic, and The Nation.
Dr Barkai has a PhD in Financial Economics from the University of Chicago and an MSc in Mathematics from Hebrew University.
