Keith Freeman has lectured on masters programmes and on a wide range of executive education courses including the Accelerated Development Programme and the Senior Executive Programme. He has been the director of several company specific programmes and was also co-director of the Finance for Non-Finance Executives.
He is a Fellow of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Association of Certified Accountants and was one of the first-ever qualified accountants to obtain a masters degree in the United Kingdom, specialising in Finance and Accounting. He was visiting faculty at University College London and at the European School of Management and Technology in Berlin.
After qualifying he spent several years in the accountancy profession and then left to set up as a consultant. He has experience in both industry and commerce. He has also worked for what was then one of the leading City stockbrokers. During this time he became increasingly involved in training, eventually founding his own accountancy-training firm where he was responsible, as both author and editor, for the development of a wide range of training materials used by accountancy students around the world. He was a director of a portfolio management company for 21 years until he assisted in its successful sale to a major building society. His business activities include company investigations and financial planning for a few private clients.
