Fernando Broner

Adjunct Professor of Economics


Dr Fernando Broner graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a PhD in Economics.

His main research interests revolve around international economics, finance and macroeconomics, with an emphasis on emerging markets. He has also undertaken both theoretical and empirical research on topics spanning sovereign debt markets, capital flows to emerging markets, globalisation and growth, currency crises and environmental policy and trade.

Fernando’s work has been published in journals including the Quarterly Journal of Economics, Review of Economic Studies and American Economic Review.

Visiting from Barcelona GSE, Universitat Pompeu Fabra and CREi, Dr Broner also holds the position of Director of the Master in International Trade, Finance and Development at Barcelona GSE, alongside being Co-Editor at the Journal of International Economics.
