Abstract

The evolution of the Information Systems (IS) function at Grandmet is described. The case tracks changes in corporate strategy and organisation structure and the responses made by IS. Also the management processes for IT activities are described, particularly focussing on the balance between centralisation and decentralisation. The IS Director is faced with another challenge: how to realign his function with a new, sector-based corporate structure.
