“Being in the financial hub of Europe, and practically the entire world, offers me the international exposure I need”, says Patrick Tchiloian MFA2019. Patrick chose the Masters in Financial Analysis (MFA) at London Business School (LBS) for four reasons: “Firstly, the international exposure, but the London location, the practical nature of the course, and the LBS brand name were all big factors too,” he says. “The international aspect gives you so many different perspectives and unique ways of looking at everything – whether that’s a financial or technical matter, or something personal, it’s so important. I don’t think I would find that at any other school.”

As the School’s first ever Early Careers student to be sponsored by an employer, Patrick is keen to squeeze every drop out of his LBS experience. Despite only being at the School for a week, he is already in the midst of preparing for the start of classes. But he says LBS has already surpassed his expectations: “I only just arrived in London,” he says, “but Orientation is so well-structured that there’s no stress or confusion. The students are great and everybody has been so helpful so far.”

Lebanese by nationality but Armenian in heritage, after noticing a number of fellow Lebanese people on campus at LBS, Patrick already has plans to strengthen the network. “There’s no Lebanese Club at LBS,” he says. “I know people have started up clubs here, so I’m going to go for it! It would have to be centred around food because that’s what we’re known for, but also cultural activities so people who aren’t from that background can be introduced to it, with events, music and dances. I’m sure it will be a massive commitment, but I’m ready!”
