My greatest challenge when I applied to business school was: Revising for the GMAT. I applied to London Business School following a change of heart regarding the path I wanted to take to achieve my career goals and therefore was a late applicant. My advice to those worried about the GMAT would be to take the test as soon as possible
About me: I was born and raised in Yorkshire in the North of England and completed my undergraduate degree in economics at the University of York. During my time at university, I was a keen member of the investment and finance, poker and lacrosse societies. The modules I studied sparked my interest in finance and I decided to study for the MFA to gain more in-depth technical knowledge of the discipline. I have internship experience in financial assurance with PwC, where I worked on London-based clients and fell in love with the city. Gaining financial services experience consolidated my plans to pursue a career in finance. I have also worked as a financial consultant for Challenges Worldwide Kampala, Uganda, where I lived with a host family whilst completing a unique internship operating alongside directors in restructuring the financial department of an SME with locally regarded high turnover. The cultural immersion of this experience made me truly appreciate the range of ideas that can formulate in diverse teams and is subsequently one of my favourite things about studying at London Business School.
