Ligia is from Sao Paulo, Brazil. She holds a BA in economics from Sao Paulo School of Economics. She started her career as an intern at Deutsche Bank, where she has performed multiple roles within the Finance division, including providing support to the regional CFO and assisting the global markets desk on risk mitigation and foreign-exchange control. In 2013, Ligia was transferred to the bank’s London office, initially working as product controller for the fund derivatives desk, and later moving to the Regulatory Risk and Capital Control division, where she reports and analyses the total risk weighted assets figures from the entire bank on global credit trading business.
Ligia decided to join London Business School to improve her knowledge in different topics within the financial market. She also wanted to leverage her skills to progress to strategic roles within banking. The creative environment for exchanging ideas and the incredibly diverse networking with the best students, alumni and faculty made the School an obvious choice, together with LBS’s outstanding reputation among global finance professionals. Ligia is the Treasurer of the Women’s Football Club and an active participant in the Brazil Club, Women in Business and Finance Club. In her spare time, she likes to explore London (there is always something new).
