Adesoji was born and raised in Nigeria. He studied economics at Babcock University, graduating with a first-class honours degree. Early on in his undergraduate years, he decided to pursue a career in finance after many late nights reading about Warren Buffett during internships at Vetiva Capital Management, and making his first stock investment. He joined Renaissance Capital as a Sub-Saharan Africa Banks Analyst in 2010, becoming Vice President at 25 years old and rising to Head of Research (Nigeria) in 2015. In 2015 and 2016, he won Financial Mail’s top analyst in Africa (ex-SA) award and was nominated in 2015 as Young Person of the Year by Future Awards Africa.
Soji is now looking to make more significant impact in the investing space (private or public markets). Over the summer, he interned with Vostok Emerging Finance – a Swedish-listed emerging markets fintech-focused venture capital fund in London. He is co-president of the Africa Club, an analyst on the Student Investment Fund, MBA student ambassador, LBS MBA student blogger and career Peer Leader. He is also the winner of the 2016 fall stock pitch competition run by the Investment Management Club.
In the fall term, he will be on exchange at NYU Stern School of Business, New York. In his spare time, Soji enjoys watching movies and Arsenal football matches, dancing, meeting people, reading books and exploring Asian culinary cultures.
