Diverse learning environment

I came to London Business School because I wanted a fresh perspective on our technology businesses and to obtain additional details on the private equity asset class as a means to increase asset value. Studying in London allowed me to gain an objective view of the American markets from outside the US. It also offered an incredibly diverse learning environment, one which offered multinational perspectives on private equity.

One of the best parts of the experience as a whole was meeting and working with people who were responsible for significant levels of assets and who were taking the programme to widen their skillset. The networking opportunities were exceptional. I had a wide variety of people as classmates; bankers, technology and financial analysts, and business owners. If you do global business, you absolutely must understand the business environment in other countries and the diverse student base that we got at London Business School provided the perfect opportunity to do just that.

Practical understanding

The professors on this programme were outstanding, with good practical experience of the industry. The guest speakers were also hugely valuable. They were all private equity professionals who used their real-life experience and insights to provide up-to-date case studies for us to work on. The analytical strength of the program was exceptional for an academic environment.

The programme enabled me to revamp the way I think about my business and how to develop it to make it attractive to a wider range of investors. The knowledge I gained from the Masterclass assisted in my company’s founding of an alternative asset advisory business that provides in-depth technical and strategic expertise. Our clients include a UK fund-of-funds, a US secondaries fund, and a number of technology and consumer products companies. It has also allowed me to approach challenges with a fresh set of batteries and a new understanding of my business environment. I left the programme feeling very energised; it was probably the greatest academic experience of my life.
