Financial Strategies for Value Creation
Take a step back from your business, explore the big picture and understand the wide variety of financial strategies available to increase its value.
It is too easy to stick to pre-conceived notions of how a business is run and not look at what is going on in the wider world. Professor Henri Servaes empowers you to create substantial value for your business through weighing up the different funding, risk management and restructuring options. You will return to your company with a broader perspective and the confidence to make significant value-enhancing changes.
Using discussion-based teaching, Financial Strategies for Value Creation is broadly divided into three key areas:
- Funding options - fundraisings, dividend policy and share buybacks, and IPOs.
- Risk management - motives and tools to manage risk optimally
- Restructuring - M&A, spin-offs, leveraged recapitalisations, private equity, and the resolution of financial distress.
The programme assumes you are familiar (through at least three years of professional experience or completion of the Valuation programme) with capital project appraisal decisions and valuation, the workings and efficiency of the capital markets and the basics of capital structure, and financial accounting.
