Jimmy Maymann SEMBA2005

Chair, Museum for the United Nations – UN Live Online

Jimmy Maymann SEMBA2005 is currently focused on his own tech-investments and on professional board work. He is the chair of UN Live Online for Museum for the United Nations, TV2 Denmark, and AirHelp Inc. with non-executive roles in Telia AB, Foss A/S, and The Maternity Foundation.

Previously, Jimmy worked as EVP of AOL’s portfolio of content brands, which altogether reached a global audience of around 499 million unique visitors every month. 
Prior to this, Maymann served as CEO of Huffington Post – acquired by AOL in December 2012 – from 2012-2015. During his tenure, the media site has expanded from 30 million unique monthly visitors in the US in 2011 to more than 200 million users in 14 countries. 

Away from AOL, Maymann established internet consulting business NeatWork/Neo Ideo in 1995 and served as CEO and COO until 2001. He later sold the company to advertising agency Leo Burnett in 2000, where he served as strategic director for the Nordic region. Maymann was later Nordic client service director, working with Leo Burnett’s major clients in Scandinavia.

Maymann holds a BA in business administration and MSc in international marketing from Odense University. Now a highly respected businessman and angel investor, Maymann once played Handball at the highest level in Denmark.
