Visiting the Library 

Take advantage of our extensive library of print and online resources and up-to-date study facilities. 


At the London Business School’s Library you’ll find the latest books, journals and research articles. 


Students, alumni and faculty can all access the library 24 hours a day to use the computer facilities, to find a quiet place to study or to catch up with today’s newspapers from around the world.

Opening times 


The Sammy Ofer Centre is open 24 hours day, seven days a week for our students, alumni and staff. People who aren’t students at LBS or members of the School can visit the library when the Library helpdesk is open, although there may be a charge.

* Taught Postgraduate students may visit the library free of charge during the summer vacation under the SCONUL vacation access scheme. 


Proof of status at home institution required. Access for most visitors is on a reference-only basis, apart from people on the SCONUL Access Scheme: Band A, which allows limited borrowing (see below). 


Visitors can use our Library Catalogue, but not our PCs or other electronic resources. 


Please note: London Business School Library no longer sends Letters of Welcome to overseas academics and students. Once you reach the UK, you will still be able to apply for access to the Library in person.  Access may (or may not) incur a charge. Please see our criteria in the table above.


SCONUL Access Scheme: Band A 


Academic staff and postgraduate research student members of this scheme can borrow up to three books from our main collection for up to a fortnight.


You will need to apply via the SCONUL website, providing details of your institution and status. You should receive a confirmation email once your application has been accepted. Please bring a copy of this when you first visit our library.


You can only borrow once you have a library card. These may take several working days to be produced.  


Please contact the library for information on vacation and bank holiday hours and for details of when the SCONUL vacation access scheme is in operation.


Day tickets and photocopying 


Before you visit, check the Library Catalogue to make sure the titles you want are available. 


Day tickets cost £30 per day for a temporary visitor's card. 


Photocopying costs 5p per A4 copy. 


You will need to observe copyright regulations, which are displayed next to the photocopiers.
