Our London-based Degree and Executive Education programmes will be delivered online for the duration of the national lockdown in England. We are well-prepared to deliver teaching virtually, and will resume hybrid delivery – with students from around the world joining classmates on campus via Zoom – as soon as it is safe and permissible to do so.
The School will remain open for essential personnel only. This includes faculty and staff who use School facilities to deliver online teaching. We continue to follow the Department for Education’s detailed guidance and look forward to welcoming you online.
Our Dubai campus remains open for core and Dubai elective delivery only. Classes from our Dubai campus are available in hybrid format. We continue to follow the KHDA and Ministry of Education’s detailed, local guidance.
As a community we are making a huge collective effort to keep our campuses safe and open. Our new hybrid teaching model has been running successfully since September with students from around the world joining classmates on campus via Zoom. We are monitoring the national and local situation with COVID-19 closely and following guidance from the UK and UAE governments along with our own health and safety consultants.
The UK Government expects higher education providers to be open for the 2020-21 academic year, and to make the necessary arrangements to minimise the risks of returning to campus by following public health guidelines.
We are working in partnership with our Health and Safety consultants and to ensure that our campuses are reopened as safely as possible. This includes complying with evolving government guidance and advice from other relevant professional bodies such as Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers.
The safety of our community whilst on campus is paramount, hence we require face masks to be worn in all indoor areas and the quad at all times, we are restricting other activities to allow for teaching and most staff are still being encouraged to work from home.
You can read a campus risk assessment for Sussex Place, Sammy Ofer Centre, the North Building and an Equality Impact Assessment.
You should:
Hand sanitiser is widely available in all buildings.
While on campus you are required to keep two metres apart from other people. According to government guidelines for Higher Education, the only exception to this rule will be when two metres is not viable and reduction to 1 metre can be used if appropriate mitigation is in place.
Therefore, students and participants are kept at least one metre apart during lectures, designated study spaces and other face-to-face teaching activity as all parties are required to satisfy mitigating structures e.g staff/faculty wearing face coverings/visors, staff to execute enhanced cleaning schedule.
Yes. You must wear a face covering while in the quad or any indoor space on campus except single person offices. Face coverings may only be removed while eating or drinking or in spaces where two metre social distancing can be observed or larger outside spaces on campus such as the front lawn. Face coverings can be face masks or visors that cover the mouth and nose.
Our Sussex Place site, Sammy Ofer Centre and the North Building are now open to degree programme students and executive education participants. All other sites will remain closed until at least January 2021.
