Visitor Information
It is possible for people who are not members of the London Business School community to visit our Library. For an overview of the Library's collection and services see the Virtual Library tour. Please see below to find out whether you are entitled to free access or whether you would have to pay a fee for your visit.
Access for visitors is on a reference-only basis*, and visitors are not able to use any of our PCs or electronic resources other than the Library catalogue.
* Except for people eligible for access under the SCONUL Access Scheme: Band A, which allows limited borrowing but no access to PCs or electronic resources.
If you think that you might need to use the Library on a regular basis then you might be interested in one of our paid membership schemes.
Free access (proof of status required)
- Academic staff and postgraduate research students (MPhil/PhD) of any academic institution
- Postgraduate taught-course students of the University of London, under the University of London Libraries Access Agreement
- Postgraduate taught-course students from SCONUL member institutions - during the summer vacation only - under the SCONUL Vacation Access Scheme
Paid access (current fee £30.00 per day)
- Undergraduate students
- Postgraduate taught-course students who do not qualify under either of the above schemes
- Members of the general public
Day tickets and photocopying
- External visitors to the Library will need to bring £30.00 for a day ticket in addition to a £10.00 deposit for a temporary day visitor's card
- This day card provides swipe access to the Library and can be used for photocopying (current charge is 5 pence per A4 copy)
- The deposit will be refunded at the end of your visit, provided that the card is returned to staff at the library desk
- When photocopying, please observe copyright regulations (see copying for private study)
- Check the availability of titles via the Library Catalogue before your visit to avoid disappointment
- Academic staff and postgraduate research students who are members of the SCONUL Access Scheme: Band A may borrow up to three books from the main collection for fortnightly periods
- To be eligible you must produce a SCONUL Access Scheme card (from your home institution Library) & proof of status at home institution
- Please note: library cards cannot be produced on the same day as your first visit, and no borrowing is permitted until your card is available
