IT projects & initiatives

Technology by its very nature is always evolving and London Business School aims to continually develop existing and new services from front-end software and interfaces to the underlying technology and infrastructure. Our IT development projects are closely linked to our strategy and vision and aim to contribute both 'added value' to users and 'competitive advantage' to the School.

IT projects in development or recently launched include:

  • Increasing bandwidth capacity. Replacing the existing cabling, over 10 years old, will enable us to provide an integrated, converged wireless IT and telecoms environment including seamless access between mobile and landline.

  • Integration of mail, calendar and other personal productivity tools in order to provide a more effective user experience.

  • Moving further towards a non-stop 24-7-365 service. After several years of modular improvements, we now plan to consolidate further development of a non-stop service including upgrading Portal and maintaining continuity of Portal access during maintenance periods.

  • New web content management system. Through Red Dot, users now have improved access to web editing services and can easily and consistently create and update School web pages.

  • Media Org. School users now have direct online access to a wealth of streaming video and audio resources. Material includes faculty lectures, guest speakers, and major School events, as well as a selection of material from broadcast sources such as the BBC, CNN, and Bloomberg.

  • Contact management and fundraising system (CARE). CARE will help the School better manage its relationships with individuals and organisations from a cross-School perspective.
