ISD vision & governance
As the body responsible for IT service delivery, ISD's vision is to provide a world-class information and technology support service to the London Business School community. We aim to be an exemplar of excellence in technology and information services, practice and performance. ISD strategy has been developed in conjunction with the School's 2010 Plan.
To help us achieve this vision, ISD uses tools such as:
- Business Excellence Model. Provides a framework for organisations to identify all aspects which contribute to their success and enables continuous improvement.
- Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL). ITIL is customisable framework used to improve IT service management, specifically service delivery and service support. We are adopting this structured model in order to improve our IT services and undertake and implement new development projects more effectively, in line with School strategy.
Formal support and ratification for strategic decisions about the development of The School's information technology services is provided by several cross-School committees drawn from programme and service departments, including:
- Portal Steering Group. Members include senior management from IT development and career services.
- Web Steering Group. Members are drawn from internal School users.
- Life Long Learning Group. Members include alumni.
