Accountant, Research and Fundraising

Job description
Working with the Research and Fundraising Manager, you'll help with accounting and reporting for all research and fundraising activities at London Business School.
Responsibilities include:
- monitoring and reporting on research institutes, centres and programmes on a monthly basis
- calculating and processing overheads
- monitoring and reporting on fundraising cash and commitments on a monthly basis
- calculating and processing investment return
- maintaining and reporting on all restricted funds
- providing cover for the gift processor role
- aiding the coordination of quarterly forecasts and annual budgets.

The Accounts team provides a full financial service to London Business School and its subsidiary companies. This includes all transaction processing services - invoices, payroll and expenses - and all banking and treasury management services.
We also provide a full management information service and make sure that:
- all corporate governance requirements are met - VAT, tax, legal/contractual, audit and HEFCE
- appropriate financial and management controls are in place
- assets are safeguarded
- resources are used efficiently and effectively
The person we're looking for
Part-qualified, or studying towards an accountancy qualification, you'll have significant experience of working in a customer-facing accounts capacity.
An interest in higher education and/or fund-raising activities will be an advantage, as is exposure to the SUN accountancy package.
Personal qualities will include an ability to organise and work to deadline, managing your priorities in a timely and efficient manner. You'll need to work with a cross-section of internal and external clients and so will need to be able to communicate and build and maintain good relations.
