  • Don't eat in the Library. All drinks, apart from water, should be in non-spill containers.
  • Don't smoke in the Library.

  • London Business School students can borrow up to 15 books at a time.
  • London Business School faculty, staff and PhD students can borrow up to 25 books at a time.
  • Alumni can borrow up to five books at a time.

External users can't borrow from the Library, unless they are London Business School's Corporate Partners, or staff and postgraduate research students who are members of the SCONUL Access Scheme: Band A.

  • Corporate Partners can borrow up to five books per card
  • Members of the SCONUL Access Scheme: Band A must register with the Library before they borrow any books. They can borrow up to three books at a time.

You can renew books from our long loan collection and working papers up to six times, providing that no one else has reserved them.

  • Books from our short loan collection will only be issued to London Business School students, staff and faculty. They can't be renewed.
  • Only London Business School faculty can borrow items from our multimedia collection.
  • You can't take journals, company reports and other reference material out of the Library.

If you don't return items by the due date, you'll be fined. Current fines are 20p per item per day for long loan books, and £2 per item per day on items from our short loan collection:

  • Anyone owing £10 or more in fines will not be allowed to borrow until the debt has been cleared.
  • We'll invoice users for any items that haven't been returned four months after the due date. The standard charge is £50 per book and £10 per working paper. Items are invoiced at the actual cost if it is higher than £50.
  • If you return an item after an invoice has been sent, the invoice will be cancelled, but the outstanding £10 fine must be paid.
  • If you lose a book, you'll have to pay for it.
