Sumantra Ghoshal Conference on Managerially Relevant Research

Our late colleague Sumantra Ghoshal believed strongly in managerially relevant research. He thought that it is the responsibility of every business school academic to ask questions that managers would find interesting, explore these questions in a rigorous manner and present the answers to these questions in a way that managers would appreciate.

In keeping with the spirit of his research philosophy, our aim is to organise a conference every year that would highlight the best managerially relevant research around the world. We want to bring together researchers to present papers that not only meet the highest standards of academic rigour, but also create insights that are of value to practitioners, managers, consultants and policy makers.

The first Sumantra Ghoshal Conference took place in May 2007 and attracted more than 90 world-class academics to London Business School. We are now planning the second annual Conference that will take place on 18-19th May, 2008. The theme for this year's conference will be 'Strategic Choice in an Uncertain World'.
