Corporate sponsorship

Sponsoring a member of staff on the Sloan Fellowship is a major investment in the development of human capital of any organisation. The programme prepares high calibre individuals for senior leadership roles and those chosen for sponsorship will be individuals identified as having high potential within their organisations. The Sloan Fellowship develops this potential faster, with more focus and greater effect than internal experience alone can achieve.

The Sloan Fellowship brings together a hugely diverse and experienced cohort in an environment that allows them to share the accumulated knowledge and perspectives, but also challenge accepted ideas and assumptions. The programme takes participants away from the day to day commitments of work and provides them with the space and a framework to reflect on the achievements of the past, and acquire new ideas, inspiration and confidence. Sloan Fellows return to their organisations with renewed vision, strong motivations and enhanced capabilities that allow them to make a real impact on their organisations.

Individual project

The Sloan individual project offers a real and significant 'pay back' to sponsoring organisations.  Sloan Fellows work with a faculty member on a project that challenges them to analyse and resolve complex business problems using the business skills, frameworks, and tools acquired on the programme. The project allows Sloans to apply theory learned on the programme to real-life business situations and challenges, and encourages integration of concepts across disciplines. Typical individual project topics include:

  • The introduction of digital multimedia broadcasting in Korea
  • Can we frame an asset allocation model in private equity?
  • Risk management and good corporate governance
  • Balancing innovation and effective leadership in regulatory organisations in Singapore
  • Retail banking market in Russia: choice of entry mode for global banks
  • Are cognitive biases at play in strategic decision-making by UK boards?
  • Private equity and value creation: myth, reality and lessons learnt
