Faculty on the Sloan Fellowship

Working at the interface between theory and practice, our faculty not only share their ideas and insights with Sloan participants but with companies, organisations and governments around the world. They:

  • generate innovative ideas and conduct leading-edge research which constitute our intellectual capital
  • advise government bodies
  • address world fora and high-level conferences
  • sit on company boards
  • foster close relationships with the corporate world
  • influence how people think about business in universities, business schools and companies across the world
  • come from all around the world including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, India, Italy and the US. With over 70 per cent of faculty from outside the UK, the School and its students benefit from a truly international perspective.

Their work is published in the leading management and academic journals, in books and newspapers, and disseminated at conferences. All this provides the framework in which courses are developed and real life case studies are brought to the classroom.

Members of faculty tell us why they enjoy teaching Sloan Fellows:

Sir Andrew Likierman, Professor of Management Practice in Accounting

"The Sloan Fellowship programme has a buzz to it. The varied backgrounds and experiences of the group make for exciting and enjoyable exchanges, with a lot of learning, but not through the conventional lectures of undergraduate education."

Randall Peterson, Associate Professor of Organisational Behaviour; Chair, PhD Programme

"The Sloans were an absolute delight to teach – they are experienced in the practicalities of management, thoughtful enough to appreciate the value of theory and research, and extremely interesting people to get to know personally. It is a privilege to be a part of such a group, or indeed to teach such a group."
