Regulation Initiative
- Launched in 1996, our key focus is to conduct relevant research with which to inform and influence future policy for the regulation of industries.
- The RI was launched in January 1996 and draws together a distinguished group of researchers. Located within the Department of Economics at the London Business School, membership of the School facilitates a multi-disciplinary approach, including contributions from economics, finance and accounting, organisational behaviour, law, operations management and political science.
- The Initiative is directed by Professor Leonard Waverman and Associate Director Jon Stern and has become an established authority in its field. It brings together a team of international experts including key policy makers, regulators, senior executives from the regulated companies, and academics working on issues of regulation.
- We are supported by a wide range of regulated companies and enjoy close links to regulators and other interested groups.
In 1998 the Global Communications Consortium was established as a subsidiary of the Regulation Initiative, and is the major European academic business research programme analysing the key issues facing communications providers today.
