Middle East Day 2007
The Middle East Regional Advisory Board and the student-led Middle East Club at London Business School co-hosted their fifth annual Middle East Day on Friday 11 May 2007. The theme was "Entrepreneurship in the Middle East: Challenges and Opportunities " - a topic which drew on varying insights from across the region, and which led to some facinating discussion. The event attracted over 120 participants from the business community both in London and in the region, as well as students and alumni of London Business School. We were delighted to have Egypt's Minister of Trade and Industry, HE Rachid Mohamed Rachid with us as a keynote speaker, as well as two leading businesswomen on the panel: Sheikha Hanadi Al Thani, Vice CEO of Nasser Bin Khaled & Sons Group and Dr Nahed Taher, CEO of Gulf One Investment Bank. Once again, a popular feature of the day was a special lunch presentation on contemporary Middle Eastern art by Saeb Eigner, Chair of the Middle East Regional Advisory Board.
Worldclass 2007
The fifth Worldclass in the region, entitled "Achieving Strategic Agility: Managing in an Uncertain World", took place in Dubai from 27-29 November. This prestigious event brought together a group of distinguished business and government leaders to examine this vital topic. Led by Professor of Management Practice, Donald N. Sull, participants learnt how organisations could survive and thrive in volatile markets, learning how to identify opportunities and quickly scale operations to seize them. Strongly supported by the School's Middle East Regional Advisory Board, the Worldclass has become recognised as a valuable forum for information exchange and networking in the region.
