Africa Day 2007
London Business School's sixth annual Africa Day conference took place at London's impressive City Hall on 26 May 2007, as part of the Mayor of London's "Africa Week" celebrations. The theme for the event was "The African Century: Transforming the continent of opportunity" and included speakers such as Professor Dora Nkem Akunyili, Director General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC); Robert Ahomka-Lindsay, former Vice President of Coca-Cola Africa Group and Valentine Sendanyoye Rugwabiza, Deputy Director General of the World Trade Organisation. The conference, put together through the efforts of the School's Africa Reggional Advisory Board and the student-led Africa Club, attracted over 200 participants and was widely thought to be the most successful Africa Day to date.
