In an increasingly competitive global labour market, the UK government has recognised the benefits that skilled overseas nationals bring to the UK economy and, consequently, has tailored its immigration policy to attract and retain skilled labour.  Through its managed migration initiative, it has introduced a number of new immigration categories designed to address skills and employment shortages in the UK.

Part-time employment and internships

  • Students working part-time, (up to 20 - hours per week), do not need a work visa
  • Students undertaking an Internship do not need a work visa.

 

Full-time employment

  • For further legal assistance contact either of the two Law firms below.  Please not that The Highly Skilled Migrant Programme has been replaced by Tier 1 (General) and students no longer qualify for a visa on the basis of the MBA qualification alone.
