How to apply
The next deadline for applications is 8 January 2009 for entry into the programme in October 2009.
- A completed application form through the online application system
- Two confidential academic references through the online system (or alternatively by post - sealed in an envelope with the referee's signature on the envelope flap)
- A transcript or certified copy of university grades from all previous degrees
- A recent GMAT or GRE score (not more than 5 years old)
- If English is not your first or native language (even if you have a degree from an English speaking University), a TOEFL or IELTS test score is required (not more than 2 years old). Our TOEFL code is 0898.
There are three ways to apply
- Apply online (we would strongly prefer you to apply online)
- An application pack can be requested from the PhD Programme Office.
- An application form can be downloaded in PDF format. In order to view this file you will require the Acrobat Reader plug-in from Adobe.
If your referees are unable to use the online system to submit their reference, please ask them to use this Letter of Recommendation Form.
There is no application fee.
GMAT and GRE
All applicants must submit a GMAT or GRE score, which has been obtained in the last 5 years.
- The required scores for these vary according to subject area, although applicants are unlikely to be shortlisted for interview if they score less than 650 in the GMAT
- The GRE is an alternative to GMAT and scores in the quantitative and analytical parts of this test should be above the 90th percentile.
- Some of the subject areas express a preference:
GRE: Economics/Management Science and Operations
GMAT: Accounting/Marketing
Please make sure you have allowed enough time for the score to be processed so that you can meet the application deadline. The tests are offered on different dates depending on which country you reside in. You should make enquiries with the Educational Testing Service and time your application accordingly.
Please note: We do not accept late applications. Candidates will not be considered for admission unless all parts of their application, including GMAT/GRE/TOEFL score, are completed by the deadline.
