Working to fund your studies
As a student you might want to consider funding your living costs and part of your tuition fees through employment .
Part-time and full-time students
Most part-time students remain employed while studying and tend to fund their living costs with their job. We highly recommended this option as most available loans and scholarships tend not to cover any living costs.
Full-time students may find working and studying at the same time too difficult because of lack of time. However, part-time or full-time vacation work may help cover any financial shortfall.
The London job market offers plenty of opportunities, including consultation vacancies that offer a higher degree of flexibility. Information on vacancies is widespread, through local papers, job boards and employment agencies. The School's Portal site also publishes details of jobs and consulting vacancies
Working and the law
Under Government law, international students on a student visa for more than twelve months can work up to 20 hours per week during term time, and full time during vacations.
Students with less than a 6-month visa are not normally allowed to work.
For immigration purposes, you must be able to show that you can afford to study and live in the UK without having to work.
