In-company project
As part of your elective choice, you may opt to undertake an in-company project. The project enables you to apply your learning to an issue concerning your own, or any other organisation.
The optional project will focus on a real world situation. It is your opportunity to provide a substantial, tangible benefit to your company, as you apply the latest trends and research in management thinking. Supervised by a faculty member, the project helps to demonstrate your ability to identify and understand general management challenges, and to evaluate and implement solutions.
Potential topics might include:
- Should your organisation be restructured?
- Should your company's product be re-positioned in the market?
- Are there strategic alliances your organisation should form?
- Can incentives, such as profit-sharing, be introduced to improve managerial performance?
- How might a merger successfully unite two different corporate cultures?
- Where should your firm locate its planned new plant?
- Should IT be carried out in-house or contracted out?
