A: Students complete the Programme within 5 years.
Q: Is there an induction programme at the start of the academic year?

Q: When does the academic year start?
A: The academic year begins in October. The year is divided into 3 terms lasting 10 weeks each.
Q: I understand I have to provide teaching assistance and/or research assistance. How much can I expect to do?
A: The requirement is for all students to do up to forty days per year teaching and or research assistance. This is seen as a valuable part of your training.
Q: Can I do the programme on a part time basis?
A: The Programme is run on a full-time basis only and students are expected to be resident in London throughout.
Q: Are there fees for the PhD programme?
A: As long as students complete in four years, the payment of fees is not applicable. After that period, there is a notional fee. In year 5 students can apply for a remittance of the continuation fee but in years 6 and 7 the fees will be doubled.
Q: What is the deadline for applications?
A: 15 January. All parts of your submission must meet this deadline. Please make sure you have allowed enough time for your GMAT score to be processed. For this reason we suggest you take the test before 31 December.
Q: I have done year 1 and 2 of my PhD in Finance but find that I need to relocate. Is it possible to transfer to London Business School?
A: We do not offer transfers. However you may be admitted to the programme from year 1 and apply for exemption from courses already taken.
Q: I have a masters from LSE do I still need to submit a GMAT score?
A: Yes it is mandatory. Students are unlikely to be shortlisted for interview if they achieve less than the 90th percentile. The score is valid for up to 5 years.
