Technology Management

Since its inception in 1993 at the outset of major economic changes brought by technology and the Internet, the OTM research centre has supported research and course development in broad issues of technology management and product development in manufacturing and service industries.

One  research programme, GMII [Global Mobility Insights and Innovations], part of a global academic initiative, concerns the study  of the impact of mobility on existing business models.  Key topics addressed by the initiative are: market structure and competition, technology diffusion and dominance, customer decision-making and behaviour, new services and revenue models, financing, nature of the workplace, and new organisational forms.

London Business School, Boston University School of Management where GMII Programme Director, Professor Fernando Suarez, is now based and INSEAD were the first partners in this major global research programme, funded by a Lucent Technologies´ grant.

All three business schools are also involved in the 3G Enterprise Alliance (3GeA), an industry association that has as its charter the identification, development and promotion of the benefits to business and industry affording secure mobile data services over 3G networks.

See GMII Research for more information on the research projects undertaken at London  Business School.
