AIM
The Advanced Institute of Management Research [AIM] is an £ 20 million cross-council [ESRC and EPSRC] initiative whose mission is to exemplify how collaborative management research and development projects can make relevant and rigorous contributions to academic, organisational and policy audiences.
This is an exciting initiative which is designed to transcend traditional disciplinary boundaries and draw together research producers and practitioners in the UK and abroad. The Institute is located at London Business School.
Professor Chris Voss, Director of the Centre for Operations and Technology Management and AIM Senior Fellow, is leading several research projects and initiatives to improve understanding of factors affecting national competitiveness and, in particular, to further our understanding of how, and to what extent management can make a difference to organisational performance. To delimit this research, three broad themes have been adopted:
- Sustaining innovation while meeting competitive pressure
- Adapting promising practices to new circumstances
- Productivity and other performance indicators for the 21st century
