Kumar scoops business gong at Thinkers50 Awards
London Business School professor, Nirmalya Kumar, scooped the Global Village Award at last night’s Thinkers50 awards at the Lancaster Hotel in London.
The award is given to the person who contributes most to the business community's understanding of globalisation and the new frontiers established by the emerging markets.
The Thinkers50 Summit, a world-class management conference and awards dinner celebrates the best and brightest management thinkers in the world.
"What can and should we learn from the Indian economic renaissance? And what are the realities behind the hyperbole? In India's Global Powerhouses and India Inside (written with Phanish Puranam), Nirmalya Kumar has contributed enormously to what we know about the reality of India today and tomorrow. His work stands conventional wisdom and complacent thinking on its head," says Thinkers50 co-founder Des Dearlove.
This year's ceremony featured seven categories in total, also including Breakthrough Idea; Strategy; Leadership; Future Thinker and the Thinkers50 Best Business Book.
The award ceremony took place on 14 November in London.
