Evolving Asia: Growth, Challenges and Opportunities
London Business School is to host its annual Asia Business Forum later this month, bringing together some of the continent's most influential figures to discuss the most pressing issues facing the ever-expanding region.
The theme of this year's student-run event, now in its sixth year, is "Evolving Asia: Growth, Challenges and Opportunities".
The forum, organised by the School's Asia Club in conjunction with the Global Advisory Council, will comprise four panels that will focus on economic outlook, private equity, corporate innovation and luxury goods.
Among the special guest speakers already confirmed for this year's flagship event are chairman of Malaysia Airlines Tan Sri Dr Munir Majid, CEO of Gucci Asia Pacific Mimi Tang and head of Samsung UK David Sung-Wong Song.
George Magnus, Senior Economic Advisor, UBS, said: "The Asian engine room of the global economy allied to strong local demographic structures, urbanisation, technological catch-up, and high savings are defining the region's rising economic and political status. And yet the growth model of the last 20 years may no longer suffice to extrapolate this trend, emphasising the need for institutional reforms.
"London Business School's Asia Business Forum offers an outstanding opportunity to participate in the increasingly significant debate about the economic, political and business outlook for Asia in a world in flux."
The event will run from 9am to 6pm on 26 May.
