Rey joins INET advisory board

Professor Helene Rey

Hélène Rey, Professor of Economics, has been appointed to the advisory board for the Institute for New Economic Thinking (INET).

Set up in October 2009 with a financial pledge from George Soros, INET aims to promote changes in economic theory and practice through conferences, grants and education initiatives.

Other INET board members include Nobel Prize winners, Joseph Stiglitz and George Akerlof.

Professor Rey recently presented at INET’s inaugural conference at King’s College, Cambridge University, where she shared her insights on the current economic climate.

Also an elected member of the council of the Royal Economic Society and of the European Economic Association, Professor Rey was awarded the Bernacer Prize in 2006 for the best European economist working in macroeconomics and finance under the age of 40.

She sits on the Board of Review of Economic Studies and is a Centre for Economic Policy Research research fellow and a National Bureau of Economic Research research associate. Professor Rey is also a regular columnist for the French newspaper, Les Echos.
