London Business School alumnus' company will bring broadband access to First Nations communities
Company that grew out of Entrepreneurship Summer School to provide enhanced broadband access to remote communities in British Columbia
Jason Neale, who graduated from the EMBA-Global programme in 2005, founded OmniGlobe Networks after taking part in the Entrepreneurship Summer School at London Business School.
The company has now been appointed by the First Nations' Emergency Services Society and First Nations Technology Council in British Columbia, Canada, to provide enhanced broadband access to over 2,700 residents of remote First Nation communities.
Jason commented: "The ESS provided me with the tools, connections and courage to launch OmniGlobe; a business that in 2008 was the fastest growing technology company in Canada whilst delivering positive social change to rural and remote communities by providing much needed broadband and cellular services."
By providing high speed internet connectivity communities will be able to benefit from advanced e-business applications, stimulating new economic development opportunities in the region. OmniGlobe Networks will also provide training for local technical support people to assist users in the community.
OmniGlobe Networks is a global telecommunications company providing reliable and affordable Internet, VoIP and mobile services to geographic regions where terrestrial telecommunications are unavailable, unreliable or unaffordable. OmniGlobe was the fastest growing technology company in Canada in 2008, according to the Branham list. www.omniglobe.com
