New Dean joins London Business School
Robin Buchanan begins his term as Dean
Robin Buchanan began his term as the seventh Dean of London Business School on 1 September.
"I am hugely impressed with London Business School, and honoured to be its Dean," Robin said. "With our worldwide mix of outstanding faculty, students, alumni and staff we are highly unusual. And being the only world-class school in London, this extraordinary global capital, we are unique."
Since his appointment, Robin has met with faculty, staff, students and alumni. He also attended the School’s Global Leadership Summit and Congregation, as well as Governing Body, Regional Advisory Board, and International Alumni Board meetings. Before he took up his post, while on personal travels through Africa and Australia, the Dean took time to meet more than 100 alumni in Nairobi, Sydney and Melbourne.
Robin was formerly the Senior Partner in the UK of Bain & Company Inc., the global business consultancy, and brings more than 35 years of experience to the School. He was awarded an MBA with High Distinction (Baker Scholar) from Harvard Business School. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England & Wales.
He follows former Dean Laura D Tyson, who returned to the University of California at Berkeley as Professor of Business Administration and Economics at the Haas School of Business; and Acting Dean Sir Andrew Likierman.
